Yes, Rainwater is Cleaner!

Benefits to Community

Ecovie Rainwater Collection Systems provides a direct and positive impact on the community.

Not only will your captured rainwater be cleaner than municipal water supplies in many key factors, it also helps protect waterways from contamination.

Rainwater exceeds EPA drinking water standards as it falls from the sky.  A well designed rainwater capture and treatment system assures that it stays that way. Rainwater has none of the contaminants that are being found in municipal water supplies such as pharmaceuticals, industrial contaminants, fertilizers and pesticides from runoff, chlorine, or flouride.  Because rainwater is produced by a natural distillation process and water is not allowed to come in contact with these contaminants, it is easier to provide clean potable water compared to highly involved municipal water treatment plants which meet drinking water most of the time but pass contaminants on to users.

Let's take a look at actual water quality data taken from an ECOVIE rainwater system.  Here, we compare Atlanta City water to treated and untreated rainwater.  Click here to see a water quality comparison.

Interestingly, in this case even untreated rainwater meets EPA drinking water standards.  This means that using rainwater for outdoor irrigation is great for plants.  We still recommend treatment for potable use to assure that this result is achieved all the time, but this data proves how pure rainwater is.
