Ecovie Rainwater Collection Systems provide tangible benefits to homeowners, small businesses and the environment.
The ECOVIE Indoor Rainwater System allows you to collect and treat rainwater so you can use it inside your home. Once treated, captured rainwater can be used for flushing toilets, doing laundry and for other non-potable uses, and with additional treatment it can be used to provide water for your entire home.
The system builds on the same concept and materials as the ECOVIE Home Irrigation System — capture water from downspouts and (possibly) hard surfaces, filter out debris, store above or underground, and distribute where needed. By adding a sophisticated filtration process and connecting the system to your home plumbing, you can save tens of thousands of gallons of municipal water each year. And you’ll still have automatic access to municipal water, if you need it. Our design adheres to the most up-to-date guidelines for captured rainwater use.
The ECOVIE Indoor Rainwater System includes:
- PVC connections of downspouts
- Filtration to 350 microns prior to storage
- First Flush filtration in addition to screening before water storage
- A 3,000-5,000 storage tank (above or below ground)
- A 1.0-1.5 HP pump with on-demand controls and run-dry protection
- Connection to automatic irrigation and hose bibs
- Irrigation system optimization as required
- Sediment filtration to 5 microns
- Carbon filtration (for potable applications)
- Disinfection (Using UV or Ozone)
- Grey water recycling if desired
- Permitting as required
